2nd Day Here

It has been nice having Easton in the room with us this time around versus in the NICU like Kenan. So far he has been a good baby and you would hardly even know he is here. I know that will change very quickly though. We have had a nice relaxing day recovering and visiting with friends and family. The hospital even brings in a birthday cake for the new baby to celebrate. Some of the people that have come to visit baby Easton over the past two days are his aunts Rebecca, Angie, Gretchen, and Michele, his uncles Gary, Luke, Jonathan, and Stephen, both sets of grandparents, Winkler cousins, Butler cousins, friends Tina, Kim, Carla, Leanne, Angie, Amy, Ryans, Barnards, Foremans, Nicholsons,Taylors, Sherry and Audrey Gries, and Seymore family.

Easton is Born

Well Easton is finally here. Although he was still about two weeks early, he was 3 weeks later than Kenan so we were ready. Good thing he came early to because he is a buster. He was born at 1:23 pm and weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and was 22 in long. Two more weeks and we would have had a whale of a baby. He can wear some newborn clothes, but I don't think for very long.
We started this morning about 4:45 when once again my water broke. I planned on staying home a bit longer this time since I did nothing for so long with Kenan, but my contractions did start coming a lot closer together so we decided to go in about 6:00. We arrived at the hospital around 6:30 and got admitted right away. For those who care I was about a three when first checked and progressed well throughout the morning, so by around 1:00 I was getting ready to push. He was a good delivery with only about 10 minutes of pushing if that.
Baby and mother are doing good and feeding is going well. Big brother Kenan loves to hold him and is being very protective. Dad is glad he can enjoy this time with his family with no basketball this week.
